This is the question most asked of the team at The Essential Fly. The trouble is there are thousands of fly patterns, what flies are more likely going to catch throughout the season than any other? In all honesty no-one can answer that question unless they are with you at the river or lake at the time you are fishing and then you match the hatch. In recently stocked fisheries with stockies (hatchery-reared trout) a one fly strategy can often work however that is neither fun or a working strategy for fishing.
