Fly Master £10,000 Competition with Total FlyFisher Magazine

How it works:

You send in three flies to Total FlyFisher, all of the same pattern to show consistency. The fly to be tied each month is declared in the magazine each month or on The Essential Fly site.

The application form needs to be filled in and completed correctly, with the correct tying recipe; hook, thread, rib, body, tail, and so on.

The competition shall run for a year, each month four prize winners shall be picked, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, these along with six others -10 in total will be awarded points, these will be maintained in a league. Also every three months a fly will be chosen as the winner of the quarter and at the end of the 12 months there will be a fly of the year.

The Rules.

1. The fly needs to be commercially viable, in other words made up of materials that are easy to obtain. The pattern can’t be a direct copy of an existing fly, variants are acceptable.
2. No other manufacturer will be given the rights to the fly.
3. Flies cannot be returned.
4. TEF -The Essential Fly - reserve the right to manufacture any flies that are submitted, the tyer will receive a 5% kick back on all flies sold.
5. TEF owns the rights to commercial manufacture of the flies winning the heat / final.
6. The overall winner will be profiled in the magazine
7. The overall winner of the competition will be the person that has accumulated the most points in the league. There will be a page on The Essentials Fly’s website where winning flies can be viewed, tyer’s can also submit a photo along with a 200 word description of themselves.
